Bringing Vancouver’s local art scene into the spotlight
Frame is a platform dedicated to showcasing the artisans of Vancouver, providing an intimate look into their creative processes and strengthening the local art community.
Through interviews with local artists, I realized they are more focused on creating high-quality pieces than on advertising themselves. Frame bridges this gap by offering a space where artists can share their stories, techniques, and passion, bringing their work into the spotlight and fostering a deeper connection with the community.
Client: Vancouver Film School
Role: Design lead
Timeline: January - April 2016
Branding
For the identity of the project I wanted to create a strong icon that could represent the project's purest essence and that could portray different types of art. A playful and flexible logo inspired the entire interface design.
Platform
I wanted to create real-life interactions between users, so by encouraging direct conversations and suggesting art crawls around Vancouver, FRAME would allow users to translate the digital experience into a tangible one.
Additionally, an art community dashboard was created to keep people updated about upcoming events, weekly highlights, and local business promotions.
Results
Frame was a graduation project that won three different awards:
The Rookies: Web & Mobile Winner
Applied Arts Student Magazine: Mobile Winner
Vancouver Film School: Best Graduate Project
